The Changing Narratives Fund supports diverse communities (Indigenous, Black, racialized, ethno-religious minority, people with disabilities and 2SLGBTQI+) in sharing their stories so they are authentically represented in Canada's media and culture sectors. It funds mentorship, training and professional development, and is delivered through three existing programs: the Canada Media Fund, the Local Journalism Initiative and the collective initiatives component of the Canada Periodical Fund. The fund will not be renewed and sunsets on March 31, 2027.
