Usually 30 percent of the maximum CFI amount approved at award finalization for projects approved after July 1, 2001
Helps institutions cover a portion of the operating and maintenance costs of CFI-funded research infrastructure so it is used optimally. Each institution is allocated an amount based on its CFI-funded projects.

Who qualifies
CFI-eligible institutions with CFI-funded infrastructure. Technicians and professionals directly involved in operating and maintaining CFI-funded infrastructure may be claimed in full if the infrastructure cannot run without them. The institution must secure the remaining portion of costs from other sources.
