Each internship is valued at $15,000; Mitacs and the partner each contribute $7,500. Intern stipend minimum $10,000, with up to $5,000 for research costs.
Funds internships for college, undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral entrepreneurs to grow their startup, with Mitacs and the startup each contributing equally.

Who qualifies
Students and postdoctoral fellows at Mitacs partner Canadian colleges and universities. The startup must be incorporated, the applicant must hold ownership and be responsible for management or operations, and be actively housed at an approved incubator facility for the project duration. Sole proprietorships, LLPs and consulting firms are not eligible.

- Funding: Projects capped at two years; internships of four to six months; extensions up to 10 units per project. Page notes limited funding for Accelerate and BSI in Alberta and Ontario in fiscal 2025-26.
